Patio Bistro Tables Move Inside for Winter

As fall approaches many of us are faced with storing our patio furniture, especially those of us who live in colder climates where winters bring severe weather and snow.  Luckily, for those of us who have enjoyed the intimacy of an outdoor bistro table and chair set during the warm weather, there may be a place for the set inside the home during the cold months.

Regardless of the material from which our set is made, it can be moved indoors for the winter.  Placement depends on space available.  For example, wrought iron bistro sets can fit very well in a sun room or any room that has a wall of windows.  Placing the set in a corner offers a private space with a good view on cold days.  Whether the area is used for a morning cup of coffee while reading the newspaper or a quiet corner for reading in the evening, the table with a couple of chairs with cushions will create the feeling of being outdoors while sitting in the warmth of the home.

Should the bistro set be constructed of wicker or a resin material, there may be ample space for it in a corner of the kitchen.  Friends can visit while the cook prepares lunch.  Or, perhaps it is the ideal space for an afternoon visit and chat over a cup of hot tea.  Adding a glass top to the table will keep the surface level and prevent any possible spills from staining the wicker and will keep crumbs from lodging in between the weave of the wicker.

Should the bistro table be made of wood or have a glass top, it will work well in a breakfast room for a small family.  If there is not enough room for the table in the breakfast nook, placement in the family room will create a perfect game table ideal for a Friday night card game between two couples or maybe a poker game for men only.

Rather than putting bistro sets in the garage or a storage building during the winter, make use of the small table and chairs year round.
