Your pupils are designed to change with the light that is available. With dark tinted colored contacts, your pupils are potentially being damaged from the lack of light they are able to receive. The colored portion of the lens is acting as an obstruction to your eyes.

This is why you need to even avoid getting cheap colored contacts because they have to be cheap for a reason and that reason may be because a cheap paint was used. There have been reports of people almost going blind by using cheap color contacts, so don’t do it.
