Gas Heaters

Gas heaters use gas or propane to heat the room. Gas is used to heat the fluids that in turn radiate the heat around the entire room. Gas is cheaper than most fuel sources, and can work even during power outages. Gas heaters, however, can only work on small rooms. It cannot radiate enough heat in large rooms and hallways. As a result, gas heaters are used primarily for small, individual rooms. Gas is also a fossil fuel, so gas heaters can emit large amounts of air pollution into the air.

Oil-Filled Heaters

Oil heaters are inexpensive, flexible, and virtually pollution-free heating options. They cost less than electric heaters, and less messy than gas heating units. Among the other heating units, oil-filled heaters are considered as the most portable. But like gas and electric heater, these heaters also have their own set of disadvantages. Oil-filled heaters need to refuel more often, and they are also not suitable for heating very large areas. Ideally, an oil heater is best used in sheds, small houses and small offices.

Electric Heaters

Electric radiant heaters use electricity to radiate heat. It is a great alternative if you don’t want to use fossil fuels to heat the room. They are also relatively smoother and more silent than other types of heaters. The only problem is that electric heaters can consume a considerable amount of energy. It can really rack up your energy consumption especially during winter. It’s a good thing that heaters can be installed around the house through a circulating system, so you can provide heat for your entire home without wasting too much energy.
