Neem Oil Insecticide For The Garden
I do believe we have come full circle as far as ridding our gardens of the pests that devour our plants are concerned. There was a time when our grandparents used the treatments handed down to them from their parents to control garden pests such as aphids and caterpillars. This was before the marketing men convinced us that we needed all the chemicals to do the job. Fortunately we are now going back to a more organic way of doing things and this is much better for us as well as the environment. When you use something like neem oil insecticide you are using an insecticide that is safe and friendly to the good things in your garden such as earthworms, butterflies and honeybees. But at the same time it will sort out the insects that decimate your crops such as aphids, beetles, cabbage worm, caterpillars and locusts. There is nothing worse in the garden than to plant out a load of salad leaf crops one day just to see that they have all been eaten overnight.
One of the things our grandparents would use on their crops would have been a soap solution, this would have been sprayed over the tops of beans to stop the aphids attaching themselves. When you spray an insecticidal soap over your plants it will smother any insects already there as well as deterring any more from arriving later. Not only do they not like crawling through the soap but they don’t like the taste either, you will need to keep reapplying the soap as it will eventually wash off but other than that this is a great way to deal with all the aphids, beetles, mealy bugs and many other insect pests that treat our gardens as their own little eatery. So be kind to the good guys in your garden as well as getting rid of the the bad guys.
