Finding Cheap Dental Implants – How?
If your teeth need to be extracted, you may feel at unease, as no one likes losing his natural teeth. There are many ways to replace your teeth, though – with dentures, bridges and implants, but implants are considered to be the best type of dental prosthesis out of all. The implants replicate the structure of natural teeth very closely, and if done correctly, they will look better and survive for longer than other types of dental prostheses. The only downside is the price of the dental implants – their average cost is around 1500-2500, not including the cost of restoration procedure, so the more teeth you need to replace, the more expensive it gets. Are there any ways to get cheap dental implants?
They Say Implants are Made of Very Expensive Materials
Believe it or not, but the actual cost of a titanium implant is below 100 dollars. They are, however, later sold to dentists for much higher price – around 100-500 dollars, and the dentists later set up whatever price they think their patients are willing to pay. That means that the majority of the implant’s cost is not due to the costs of materials, but more due to marketing fees and the personal inclinations of the dentists.
Dental Universities
One way to get cheap dental implants is to get treated in dental schools, but you also need to be vigillant. First, dental operations are going to be done by inexperienced students, so don’t expect top-notch quality of dental work. Second, you need to make sure that they tell you the exact costs of the procedures, because there have been cases in which the final costs were not that different from what you would have to pay in dental offices.
Go Abroad
Another way to find cheaper implants is to go abroad. Cosmetic dentistry prices in Mexico are 70% lower than the prices in the USA. Other places you may want to go to are Thailand, Hungary and maybe India. Some precautions need to be taken, though. In countries like Thailand there is no law that would protect you in case a dentist would screw up. Remember that you need to check what other people say about dental offices before deciding on anything.
Other Ways
It is possible to negotiate with your dentist. Some will agree to provide you with a payment plan, so that you could pay in portions every month. There are also special dental centers, like Nadic Dental located in Nevada, that offer “free dental implants”. These implants are indeed free, but the catch here is that you can’t switch to another dental office until all the procedures associated with your implants are completed, and you still have to pay for the restoration of your implants.
