People Find Therapy Jobs with Limited Training

The economy has taken its toll on many families all over the country, and many millions of people are either out of work or underemployed. Many people that are highly qualified may be working hourly jobs that are not enough to pay the many bills that the family has. There are also those who have given up on finding work because they have been looking for so long. Many of the people looking for work are those that have acquired skills in a specific field, but cannot find a job where those skills are utilized. However, many people would be surprised to hear that their education could also qualify them to fill many different therapy jobs.

There are many different types of therapy jobs, each of which has a specialty that requires specific education. Once fully educated and certified, therapists can fill one of the over fifteen thousand therapy jobs that are spread across all fifty states. One of the states that is experiencing an uncommon rise in therapy jobs is Florida. Even though Florida only has half of the population of California, it actually has a higher demand than California when considering openings in jobs in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and many other types of therapy. Each of these professions will require at least a Master’s degree in the area which the candidate intends to enter, but if the candidate for the job has a doctorate, then the job search should be a much shorter process.

Now, each of these full time professionals will surely require assistants that will administer the treatment to many of their patients, so there will be many openings for these people as well. If you would like to seek out one of these therapy jobs but do not have a formal education in this area, you could easily apply to be a therapy aide for the full time therapist. These jobs are very high in demand, so it is best to start searching locally for these jobs, but there will still be advertisements in the classified’s section of the local paper for aide requests. Once an aide has secured the job, they will receive training as they work with the professional therapist and the trained assistants. This is a great opportunity for people to get paid while receiving training, which could ultimately save thousands of dollars in education one day.

If, after many months of satisfactory performance, your employer decides that they would like your help as a trained assistant, they could recommend that you go through the training. The biggest advantage in this situation is that the therapist may cover your expenses while being trained, making an investment in your future. With your acquired knowledge from your work as an aide, you may not have to take several courses that other assistants in training would have to endure. A person that is completely new to the healthcare industry may have to endure many years of training before they are ready for therapy jobs.

You, however, have demonstrated already that you can perform in this industry, so your formal training experience may not be as long or as costly. If you decide to remain in the industry, your employer may be willing to repeat the process of paying for further education so that you can become a legitimate doctor of therapy. When your employer decides to retire, you may be able to carry on with the private practice of therapy. Then it will be your turn to offer therapy jobs to others that are seeking for fulfillment while also making a fairly decent living.
